Public formation

In November 2018, the public organization “Chaplain Patrol” launched its work in the city of Mariupol as a pilot project of the Patrol Police Department of the Donetsk region.

The key areas of chaplain activity include:

  • Moral and psychological support for the department’s personnel.
  • Assistance to law enforcement officers in working with victims and offenders.
  • Implementation of joint social projects with local communities.
  • Establishing relationships with international partners.

Over time, chaplains were invited to other regions and law enforcement units across Ukraine.

The positive experience of the chaplain service has inspired hundreds of volunteers to undergo training and establish local chaplain centers, which strengthen trust and enhance cooperation between law enforcement and local communities.

Chaplain ministry is a unique international and interfaith platform for supporting law enforcement officers and their families. The experience of Ukrainian chaplains is now being studied and adopted in Moldova, Georgia, and Poland.
